New Series: Yamas & Niyamas

Join Ashley for a 5 week series exploring the first 2 limbs of yoga Yamas & Niyamas

Each we we will start with a gentle flow and then sit down talk about 1 yama and 1 niyama while enjoying some tea.  We will end class with a short guided mediation. Come dive into your practice and deepen your understanding of the first 2 limbs of yoga.

The Yamas and Niyamas the first two limbs of Patanjali's eight-limbed yoga philosophy, serving as ethical, moral, and personal guidelines for living a conscious, harmonious life. The five Yamas are external social restraints (how to behave toward others), while the five Niyamas are internal observances (how to treat the self).

Week One: Yama: Ahimsa- Non-Violence. Niyama: Saucha- Cleanliness

Week Two: Yama: Satya- Tell the Truth. Niyama: Santosha- Contentment and Acceptance

Week Three: Yama: Asteya- Don't Steal. Niyama: Tapas- Commitment to do your best

Week Four: Yama: Brahmacharya- Consciously direct your energy. Niyama: Svadhyaya- Study Yourself

Week Five: Yama: Aparigraha- Non Attachment take and keep only what is needed. Niyama: Isvara Pranidhana- Let go and surrender to a higher power.
